God will show up - John 11:33-36

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled, and said, “Where have you laid him?” They *said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept. So the Jews were saying, “See how He loved him!” John 11:33-36

When I was 16, my mom and dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and as a “misunderstood” teenager, I answered, “just some love and understanding!” Ok, I was a bit over-dramatic. Truth is, we all long for love and compassion.

Sometimes, it’s hard for me to think that the God of the universe, the Creator of all, has time for me in His incredibly busy schedule running everything. That Someone so omnipotent, would care for me and take time to consider my feelings or situation. And yet, He does.

He knows my beginning and end. He has it all in control. He is there to hold my hand when I am desperate, without hope, when I am emotionally broke and empty. Because, He loves me deeply – more than I can fathom. He listens to me and is not indifferent to my pain. And even though He knows exactly how things are going to happen in His plan, He meets me where I am.

God wants and longs to develop a loving relationship with me based on my trust in Him. And He knows that involves showing up – for both of us.
